blog #4- Question

What do you think is conflicting about society in Libya? Do you think that these conflictions are the reason for the awkward and sometimes depressing differences in Suleiman's family?

  1. Yes, I do think that the conflictions are the result for depressing differences in Suleiman's family. I think its because Suleiman does not know what is going on with his dad, and leads to him acting the way he does.

  2. I think that the conflicts in Libya are just for the fight for power in the government. I don't think the book will end with these conflicts ending, but with someone dying (sadly).

  3. Well the big problem in Libya seems to be the political turmoil that is plaguing the country and I completely agree that this book will not solve these problems but it might at least give new hope to other generations. As far as it affecting the family life of Suleiman, I believ that it is the main if not only reason for the depressing mood of the family. With out the political problems they would just be any other normal Libyan family.

  4. I think that the conflict will be lessened in the end too, although I don't that the divorce solves this problem, Suleimans mother might think that it does.
